Townley House, located on Chatham Street in Ramsgate, was designed and built in 1792 and is regarded as one of the most important buildings in the town. Now, it is being returned to its former glory through a luxury redevelopment. This iconic mansion, originally designed by one of England’s first female architects, Mary Townley, is being lovingly and meticulously restored and converted, bringing it back to its original Georgian grandeur.
The apartments have been thoughtfully designed to maximise space, light, and style to suit modern living, while retaining many of the building’s original and endearing features.
Automist was the chosen fire suppression solution for these open-plan apartments, which did not have a protected means of escape. The system was installed over several months as part of the wider building programme during the redevelopment.
